SUMMARY:Yukon July 2026 P1/P2 Course
DESCRIPTION:Prairie paragliding will be offering a complete P1/P2 course Ju
 ly 14th-30th 2026 based in Dawson City Yukon. This course is intended for 
 students with no prior experience paragliding\, and by the completion of t
 he course students will have earned their P2 rating allowing them to conti
 nue flying independently.\n\nThe course will run all day for all of the sc
 heduled days. Depending on weather students should expect ~6 hours trainin
 g each day as two 3 hour blocks (morning/afternoon and evening) with a lon
 g break. Though it may be possible to complete the course attending only o
 ne block on week days\, and both blocks on weekends\, success will be high
 ly sensitive to weather. The tentative schedule for the course is:\n\n 	Ju
 ly 14th &amp\; 15th P1 Ground Training - All students need to be available
  all day for this portion*. Students not completing the ground training\, 
 or having insufficient ground skills will not be able to safely participat
 e in the remainder of the course.**\n 	July 16th &amp\; 17th P1 Low flight
 s\, P1 Exam (Top of the World sites)\n 	July 18th-26th P2 Training Flights
  (Top of the World sites)\n 	July 27th-30th P2 Training High Flights\, P2 
 Exam (Midnight Dome)\n\n* Dave McDonald has volunteered to provide some gr
 ound training prior to the course\, students who participate in this and h
 ave Dave's support may be allowed partial attendance to the ground trainin
 g.\n** Schedule may be adjusted where needed for students needing addition
 al ground time\, however\, the needs of all students must be considered an
 d adjustment may not be possible.\nThe course will be based in Dawson City
 \, but will travel to several locations for training. Students will need t
 o arrange their own transportation among the group.\n\nPrior to the course
  students will need to complete the online grounds school.\n\nSpots are li
 mited to 8 to ensure that students get the feedback they need to complete 
 this intensive course. There is a minimum enrolment of 4 students to make 
 this course possible. Priority will be given to Yukon residents.\n\nEquipm
 ent will be provided (students will need to bring their own helmet\, glove
 s\, and appropriate footwear)\, however\, students are strongly encouraged
  to purchase their own equipment so they can continue flying. A discount w
 ill be offered with purchase of equipment. Students should not purchase an
 y used equipment without consultation with the instructor\, as the used ma
 rket is of varying quality and safety.\n\nCost:\n\n 	Yukon Residents: $175
 0\n\n 	Includes $500 funded by AYPH and local pilots\n\n\n 	Non-Residents:
  $2250\n\nBoth costs include $250 funded by HPAC\n\nPayment:\n\n 	$500 dep
 osit to secure spot\n 	$1000 one month prior\n 	Balance prior to start of 
 the course\n\nDiscounts Available:\n\n 	$200 discount if you purchase a AY
 PH glider (used as training gliders during the course\, supply and options
  limited) or $400 discount if you purchase a Prairie Paragliding beginner 
 package prior to the course. Information on both packages will be provided
  after deposit.\n\nRefunds:\n\nAll fees paid will be refunded should the c
 ourse be cancelled prior to start for reasons outside of the student's con
 trol. Partial refunds will be issued should students be unable to complete
  the full P2 course outside of their control (weather issues\, etc.)\, the
  amount of the partial refund will depend on the amount of the course disr
 upted. No refund will be available for students failing to complete the co
 urse due to inadequate attendance. Inadequate attendance shall be determin
 ed by the instructor to be failure to train by the student's own choice\, 
 and includes the choice to only be available for one of the training block
 s.\n\nSign up\n\nPay Deposit\n\nNote: Signing up does not ensure a spot\, 
 only payment of the deposit ensures a spot.\n\nPrairie Paragliding will ac
 cept the first 8 students paying the deposit\, regardless of when this for
 m was completed. Should spots subsequently open due to cancellation Prairi
 e Paragliding will contact all waitlisted signups in order received and ac
