Prairie paragliding will be offing a complete P1/P2 course August 21th-September 7th 2026 based in Charlottetown, PEI and Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. This is a hybrid course for both students with a P1 and for students with no prior experience paragliding, and by the completion of the course students will have earned their P2 rating allowing them to continue flying independently.

The course will run all day for all of the scheduled days. Depending on weather students should expect ~6 hours training each day as two 3 hour blocks (morning/afternoon and evening) with a long break. The tentative schedule for the course is:

  • August 21st – 22nd P1 Ground training PEI (Mostly for new P1s, returning P1s can join if they want more refresher)**
  • August 23rd P1 on Hill Training Parrsboro (All students, refresher for returning P1s)
  • August 24th – September 4th P2 training Parrsboro, Optionally will extend 5-7 for weather etc.
  • September 5th – 7th P2 flights /w Festival of Flight PEI

** Schedule may be adjusted where needed for students needing additional ground time, however, the needs of all students must be considered and adjustment may not be possible.

The course will be based in Charlottetown, PEI and Parrsboro, Nova Scotia and will utilize locations in those areas. Students will need to arrange their own transportation and where applicable, accommodations.

Spots are limited to 8 to ensure that students get the feedback they need to complete this intensive course. There is a minimum enrolment of 4 students to make this course possible. Priority will be given to maritimes residents.

Equipment will be provided (students will need to bring their own helmet, gloves, and appropriate footwear), however, students are strongly encouraged to purchase their own equipment so they can continue flying. A discount will be offered with purchase of equipment. Students should not purchase any used equipment without consultation with the instructor, as the used market is of varying quality and safety.

Cost: $2250

Includes $250 funded by HPAC

Payment:

  • $500 deposit to secure spot
  • $1000 one month prior
  • Balance prior to start of the course

Discounts Available:

  • $400 discount if you purchase a Prairie Paragliding beginner package prior to the course. Information on packages will be provided after deposit.
  • $300 returning P1 that completed the 2025 HPAAC P1 course with Prairie Paragliding.

Note: Signing up does not ensure a spot, only payment of the deposit ensures a spot.

Prairie Paragliding will accept the first 8 students paying the deposit, regardless of when this form was completed. Should spots subsequently open due to cancellation Prairie Paragliding will contact all waitlisted signups in order received and accept the first deposit payment for the spot.
